From experience I will start off by stating that Surkus is not a scam. A promotional line you see before downloading the app is to get selected for events you will love. You will also get paid for going to such events. While some events are fun to participate in, others are not quite so. However, you still get paid to go to these events so whenever you find yourself accepting an invite to an event you do not like it would not be a waste of time. I went to a Jetta Haus event where I got to test drive some of the new cars they are coming out with. I only stayed for an hour and got paid $15 for going.
I have been getting invitations to go to a gentlemen’s club with a payout of $5, but they also pay the price to get in which is valued at $30. I know a lot of guys would not mind participating in this free event to enjoy an exotic night life.
I most recently accepted an invite for a production shoot for Even headphones. Even is a competitor of Beats, and their headphones are designed specifically for your hearing. You have to take a test in your left and right ear so the headphones can adjust to how we hear. While this event was not fun, I got paid $60 just to stand on a line at a particular location for 4 hours. We were filmed while standing on line near the new Even store in downtown Manhattan. The purpose was to create an advertisement of a crowd of people ready to hoard the store to purchase these headphones.
While some events are hit and miss in regards to the fun aspect, it is never a waste of time if you make money for going. Some of the events that you do not get a high payout is worth while because there are constant invites to movie previews and clubs as already mentioned. I almost forgot to inform viewers that this app works for events in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, and they have recently went international in Hong Kong.
