Arbonne Review: Quick Summary
Name: Arbonne
Description: Arbonne is a network market company that focuses on health and wellness. It doesn't cost much to get involved with their affiliate program and they seem to have a generous compensation plan. Although this may be one of the better MLMs to consider joining, it still costs a bit to get fully involved. Without any marketing skills, most people fail to succeed as these companies tell you to recruit friends and family.
Price: $49-$276
Is Arbonne a Pyramid Scheme?
I wouldn’t label Arbonne a Pyramid Scheme, but their business model is set up in similar aspects. This is not a company I would recommend joining, and the health and wellness industry is saturated with competition. It seems like almost every business I review is marketing protein powders or weight loss products.
Pros
- History in Business
- Accreditted an A+ rating from the BBB
- Social Media Training
Cons
- Low Success Rate
- Expensive Products
- The Best Way to Earn is By Recruiting
Arbonne is a multi-level marketing company that was established in 1980.
As this company specializes in promoting health and wellness, you may have stumbled on this page because a family member or friend recommended you to join and referred to it as being a GREAT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY!!!
The truth of the matter is that you have been presented with this opportunity by someone you know because the best chance to earn an income within Arbonne comes from recruiting others to join.
That fact leads to why an MLM company can be labeled as pyramid schemes, but I will not label Arbonne as one.
So to know whether or not this business opportunity is right for you, this post will provide full details on what is Arbonne about and all it has to offer. I must share the fact that I am in no way associated with the company and I am in a position to share this review due to past experience with another MLM company called World Ventures.
In striving to make a passive income in the past with World Ventures and other past business failures, internet marketing has proven to be a success and is the best way to go about marketing products and services.
MLM companies will turn you into that annoying friend that harasses everyone you come across to join or buy your products.
It’s a known fact that there is a low success rate for members within Multi-Level Marketing Businesses and if you consider joining it would be in your best interest to learn everything you can regarding marketing online to reach a wider audience instead of being limited to the people in your circle.

What is Arbonne About?
Starting out in 1980 in the city of Orem, Utah, Arbonee currently operates businesses in Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Poland, New Zealand, and Taiwan. They’re mostly known for their energy supplements, but they also sell protein powders, make-up, and skincare products.
Petter Morck is the founder of Arbonne and his mission was to develop, produce and market skincare and related products unparalleled in quality, purity, safety, and beneficial results.
Membership
There is a $49 registration fee to get started as an independent consultant and start earning commissions on product sales. Members will get a personalized website, have access to free apps for on the go business management, a social marketing library for sharing Arbonne, and a complete knowledge library for product and business information.
As you can see from above, members do not receive any products after paying the registration fee. Members can pay an additional $49 and get a starter kit with sample products for people to try. Although the price seems reasonable to get started, the costs start to add up for those becoming fully involved in the business.
Value packs that come with a range of products cost around $276, and there is a monthly sales quota close to $150 monthly. Some companies require members to pay a monthly fee or meet a sales quota in order to stay active, but not reaching the sales quota will not cause your status in the company to become inactive. Instead, members that fail to reach the monthly sales quota will be ineligible for various bonuses.
Compensation
MLM companies usually have a compensation plan that is complex and difficult to understand. It is not important to know all the intricate aspects of it as they claim there are a bunch of ways to earn. In reality, with these kinds of businesses the only way to earn is by recruiting and selling.
The extra bonuses will depend on sales from you and your recruits and in some cases the person that recruited you as well. For a bit of clarity on how to earn, %15 to 35% commission is paid for every preferred or regular client respectively.
You can check out the video below for further details regarding Arbonne’s compensation plan.
Arbonne’s Products
The main product that I have observed Arbonne consultants promote is their Fizz sticks which is a supplemental energy drink. They also offer a variety of products in the health and wellness niche which can be seen in the image below.
The main issue when it comes to selling products for MLM companies is that their products are usually priced much higher than their competitors that offer similar items. This is a common theme as MLM companies need to charge more in order to compensate their members.
A price comparison below shows how Arbonne Vegan Protein Powder measures up with another vegan brand.
In searching for Arbonne’s protein powder, I have seen it priced as low as $45 and as high as $70. Even at the low end, it is still nearly twice the amount of the alternative brand in the image.
Pros of Joining Arbonne
- History in Business
- Accreditted an A+ rating from the BBB
- Social Media Training
Although there is usually more to lose than gain when joining a multi-level marketing business, its history in business and BBB accreditation suggests it is a company with better morals than most. Some companies usually shut down due to a barrage of lawsuits for bad business practices. This is something you should not have to worry about with Arbonne.
Their social media training is a good sign as well. This shows that they recognize the power it has to drive a successful business. Other multi-level marketing companies usually teach their members to strictly target family and friends. That strategy would decrease your chances for long-term success and is a reason why most people that join MLM companies fail.
Cons of Joining Arbonne
- Low Success Rate
- Expensive Products
- The Best Way to Earn is By Recruiting
Although Arbonne provides some social media training to market their brand, their expensive products will be a tough sale for those looking for good quality products at a more affordable price.
Making retail sales on products at 15% to 35% commissions means it will take a lot of sales in order to make a decent monthly income. If the sales quota is $150 and you earn the highest possible percentage of 35%, that will only amount to $52.50.
So when it comes down to earning a respectable income, you will have to build a team. Not only will you have to build a team, but the success of the people you recruit will play a part in your success as well. This fact is also a major reason why most people fail in this business. Your success depends on others instead of the work that you do as an individual, and these kinds of businesses are not set up for the majority to succeed.
Conclusion
Although Arbonne is one of the more respectable MLM companies out there, it is not a company I would highly recommend joining. Recruiting a family member or friend can ruin a relationship which is something that happens every so often when talking about these types of businesses. Chances of this happening are low being that it does not cost much to get started, but if there are hidden monthly costs to maintain membership then it can turn out to be costly.
Even with some social media training, Multi-Level marketing companies never give members all the knowledge it takes to market online. If the person that signs you up really knows what they are doing and can provide some meaningful training, then there is a slim chance it might work out.
With that said, there are plenty of opportunities to make an income online which will require less work and can eventually replace your day job. For a chance to make a passive income to change your life for the better and take control of your own fate instead of having to rely on recruiting…
