MaskCara Beauty Review: Quick Summary
Name: MaskCara Beauty
Description: MaskCara Beauty is a network market company in the beauty industry. It doesn't cost much to become a member and they seem to have a generous compensation plan for it"s distributors. This might be one of the better MLM companies to consider joining. However, without any marketing skills, most people fail to succeed as these companies tell you to recruit friends and family.
Price: $199
Is Maskcara a Pyramid Scheme?
I wouldn’t label Maskcara Beauty a Pyramid Scheme, but their business model is set up in similar aspects. This is not a company I would recommend joining if you don’t have a good marketing strategy. The beauty industry is also saturated with competition. It seems like almost every business I review is marketing either skincare and makeup products.
Pros
- Good quality products
Cons
- Low Success Rate
- The Best Way To Earn is to Recruit
MaskCara Beauty is a multi level marketing company established in 2013.
As this company specializes in promoting beauty products, you may have stumbled on this page because a family member or friend recommended you to join and referred to it as being an amazing business opportunity.
The truth of the matter is that you have been presented with this opportunity by someone you know because the best chance to earn an income within MaskCara comes from recruiting others to join.
That fact leads to all MLM companies being labeled as pyramid schemes, but I will not label MaskCara as such. That is due to the fact that it is possible to make an income from selling their products.
So to know whether or not this business opportunity is right for you, this post will provide full details on what is MaskCara about and all it has to offer. I must share the fact that I am in no way associated with the company and I am in a position to share this review with you because I have past experience with another MLM company called World Ventures.
As I have strived to make a passive income in the past within that MLM company and other past business failures, I have found success with internet marketing which is the best way to go about marketing products in general.
MLM companies will turn you into that annoying friend that harasses everyone you come across to join or buy your products.
It’s a known fact that there is a low success rate for members within Multi-Level Marketing Businesses and if you consider joining it would be in your best interest to learn everything you can regarding marketing online to reach a wider audience instead of being limited to the people in your circle.
If you want to learn how to make money online for the best chance of establishing a passive income and live a more free lifestyle, subscribe and get weekly content and a 7-day course for making money online.
Now it’s time to get to the review of MaskCara and see if it’s the right opportunity for you.
MaskCara Beauty Review
Based in Utah, Maskcara Beauty was founded by Cara Brook.
Brook was a “beauty blogger/makeup artist” prior to establishing MaskCara. A 2014 New York Times article stated that she was selling “her own Maskcara-branded” makeup through her website before starting the company.
As an experienced marketer, Cara has a good social media presence and is relatively active on Instagram and Facebook.
Maskcara’s official Facebook page is also regularly updated with content.
Membership
There are two options to become a member of MaskCara Beauty which is detailed below.
- Basic Artist Kit- Costs $199 and comes with catalogs and an assortment of beauty products
- Pro Artist- Costs $399 and also comes with catalogs and more beauty products and marketing materials than the basic kit to start your business.
Compensation
MaskCara Pays distributors 20% commissions on all personal sales. Distributors also earn a 5% to 7% enroller bonus when you recruit new artists and help them succeed. There are more bonuses you are eligible to receive such as Personal Leader and Generation bonuses, but it all hinges on recruiting and selling from you and your team.
For a more detailed look ino their compensation plan you can check out the video below.
Products
Maskcara features a range of beauty products detailed below.
- Face Makeup-This category includes a variety of products such as highlighters, contouring makeup, illuminators, setting powders, and bronzers available in different shades to match your skin tone.
- Eye Makeup– MaskCara Beauty eyeshadows are available in glitters, shimmers, matte, and cream. Each eyeshadow is stored in a tin, and are available individually so you won’t have to spend a fortune for a palette full of colors that you won’t use.
- Makeup Brushes and Tools- MaskCara also offers compacts, brushes, and other tools to complete your makeup bag. This category also includes other products such as a clutch wallet and makeup artist palettes
- SkinCare-This category of products include MaskCara Beauty’s lip conditioner, the Tres Leches Skin Care System, Setting Spray, MILK Toner, and MILK Moisturizing Creme. You can also purchase the MILK Cleanser, MILK Masque, and Microfiber Cloths.
- Perfume-This category of products includes 4 different fragrances to choose from.
Although MaskCara may offer beauty products that are a bit more expensive than other popular alternative options on the market, the price of most of their products seems to be fair and reasonable.
Pros
- Training
- Good quality products
A good thing about MaskCara Beauty is that you can not dive head-first into business without training. There will be a training period in which you work to earn 640 commission volume.
The MaskCara Beauty website is very helpful in their training as it features video tutorials for how to apply bright makeup, how to do a smoky eye, and how to contour your nose.
You can also feel confident in promoting their products.
Whether it’s the highlighters, skincare cremes, or makeup brushes, the quality of the MaskCara products is pretty impressive and is reasonably priced as mentioned before.
Cons
- Recruiting Aspect of the Business
- Low Success Rate
Although MaskCara provides training in how to apply makeup, it doesn’t provide proper training in the recruitment and selling aspect of the business which goes hand in hand with why many distributors fail.
At the bottom of the MaskCara website, you will notice the feature to host a party which is how most MLMs teach their members how to recruit by inviting family and friends.
This method is outdated and how many times you think you can host a party by inviting the people you know?
In order to reach a good amount of people to be successful in these kinds of businesses is to have some marketing strategies and skills online.
Cara Brooks who founded MaskCara Beauty understands that fact and that is a major reason for her success.
Conclusion
MaskCara seems like a good business opportunity compared to other MLM companies I’ve reviewed in the past, but I would not recommend joining if you are an inexperienced marketer.
There is much more to lose than gain by joining MaskCara, and being taught to recruit family and friends can ruin relationships which is something that happens every so often when talking about multi-level marketing.
There are some newer network marketing companies that understand the importance of marketing online and will teach you some social media strategies to promote their brand.
MaskCara does not offer such training to give you advanced knowledge in regards to marketing online.
If the person that signs you up really knows what they are doing and can provide you some real training then it might work out.
With that said, there are plenty of opportunities to make an income online which will require less work and can eventually replace your day job. For a chance to make a passive income to change your life for the better and take control of your own fate instead of having to rely on recruiting…
